Freewriting Exercise 1

Ahh, we meet again!

Please bear with me as I write anything that comes to mind for 20 minutes. That may seem like a long time but really, it isn’t. So why am I exercising? Nothing, really. I suck at writing. Maybe freewriting exercises like this would help, even just a little.

My college professor said that I shouldn’t care about anything during a freewriting exercise *cough*grammar*cough*

Someone just sent me a message when I was about to start this sentence. No, I will not look at it. Lesson learned: Turn off all distractions before starting.

I have no idea why I’m writing this in this format. Pressing Ctrl+a, then Ctrl 1, 2 or 5 should make it look different. If you don’t already know, that’s how you 1) Select all and 2)Adjust the spacing.

I can see my phone’s notification light pulsing on and off and up to this day, I’ve no idea what color it is. Yellow? Yellow Orange?

I HAVE AN IDEA! I will publish this on a blog and maybe encourage other people to exercise too! I know that sounds like a lame idea but at least I have more content on this freewriting exercise post. Hmm, I’d probably use wordpress. Again, no reason. I don’t really like wordpress. People seem to like it though. Scratch that, I’ll just use blogger.

I’m thirsty. Hold on a second.

 _______

Okay, I’m back.

I think I have 6 minutes left. Hey, If you’re thinking of doing this kind of exercise, you don’t have to do it for 20 minutes like I did. Just choose a duration and commit. You can even use 5 minutes.

4 minutes. I can hear fireworks. Hmm, is there a word for the sound that fireworks make? Let me know if you know. No, it’s not really urgent. It’s not like I’m dying to know.

2 minutes. Finally, before I end this freewriting exercise, I just want to greet you, whoever you are, a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Cheers!
